The Glacier Project
The Glacier Project captures the ephemeral beauty of Europe’s glaciers, serving as a tribute to their magnificence while reminding us of their fragility.
The idea for the project emerged in 2017, when the duo witnessed a massive slab of ice breaking loose from a glacier’s edge in Norway. The moment was breathtakingly beautiful, yet painfully finite. This experience became the catalyst for their ongoing exploration. Since then, they have travelled across Europe, from France and Norway to Iceland, to build this body of work, tracing the slow transformation of ice into water, and landscape into memory.
Driven by an urgency to document these shifting environments, where what is witnessed today may be gone tomorrow, their work becomes an ode to the current and next generations.
Moving away from the heavily loaded narratives of glacial decay, they choose instead to shine a light on the abstract beauty of glaciers. By doing so, they encourage introspection and spark dialogue about the interconnection between humans and the sublime of nature, believing that awe is the first step toward understanding.
